<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing device which can be made thin and small, is free from damage caused by impact when a movable member is opened, and reduces load on an operator, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A linear member 14 is fixed to a movable member 5 at one end and to the rotary member 17 of a fixed member 4 at the other end. Also, the linear member 14 is wound around the circumference of the rotary member 17. In addition, the rotary member 17 incorporates an elastic member, the one end of which is fixed to the rotary member 17 and the other end of which is fixed to the fixed member holding the rotary member 17 so that the rotary member 17 freely rotates. When the movable member 5 is closed, the linear member 14 is wound around the rotary member 17. When the movable member 5 is turned and opened, the linear member 14 is pulled out while the rotary member 17 is rotated accompanying the turn of the movable member 5. In addition, while being elastically deformed accompanying the rotation of the rotary member 17, the elastic member accumulates elastic force with which the rotary member 17 is rotated in an opposite direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
