<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold type transformer which can use a less quantity of resin, minimize its cost increase, and prevent the deterioration of a characteristic without any stress to a core. <P>SOLUTION: In the transformer, a flange 3a defining primary and secondary sections is formed at an outer periphery of a hollow winding barrel 2, a terminal base 4 having terminals 6 embedded therein is formed to a flange 3 at each of both ends of the winding barrel, and primary and secondary windings 7, 8 are wound around the outer periphery of the winding barrel 2.
