PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed methane fermentation process of glycerol by which methane fermentation treatment can be efficiently performed at a low cost without performing pretreatment (solubilization treatment) by warming in a process of performing methane fermentation treatment by blending glycerol-containing organic waste with solid-containing organic waste. SOLUTION: The glycerol-containing organic waste produced from a bio-diesel manufacturing process as a byproduct, the solid-containing organic waste and a part of sludge taken out of a methane fermentation tank (return sludge) are mixed in a mixing apparatus 1, then obtained mixture is supplied into the methane fermentation tank 2 to perform methane fermentation and excess sludge from the methane fermentation tank 2 is discharged. Mixing ratio of the glycerol-containing organic waste and the solid-containing organic is made to have 35 to 70%, preferably to have 40 to 60% TS (Total Solid) concentration in the mixture.
