<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a flexible board, capable of connecting a circuit board to a flexible board positioned on either of the front face side or the rear face side of the circuit board and being thinned. <P>SOLUTION: A casing 2 is disposed in a through hole 41 of the circuit board 40 and an external contact portion 3b of a contact 3, projecting from a part near an upper end of the casing 2, is connected to a connection terminal 43 on the surface of the circuit board. One end of the flexible board 30 is inserted into an insertion inlet 9 from an upper opening 6 or a lower opening 7 of the casing 2, a pressing piece 8 is slid toward the external contact portion 3b, and an internal contact portion 3a of the contact 3 and the end of the flexible board are fixed, by pinching them between a pushing-up block 10 and the press piece 8.
