PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic charge balance which announces that the total weight of articles to be packaged in counter selling exceeds the total weight of the articles at their arrival in the case that it occurs. SOLUTION: The electronic charge balance is provided with both a weight excess detecting means S3 for making inquires about the articles to an upper model on the basis of part numbers and individual management numbers and detecting whether the information returned from the upper model as results of the inquiries indicates weight excess or not and an announcing means S4 for announcing that the individual management numbers should be changed when it is detected by the weight excess detecting means that the articles exceed in weight.
