PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine driven working machine including a casing of a structure enabling an operator to perform opening and closing work of a protection cover easily and safely. SOLUTION: The engine driven working machine 100 having an engine 50, the working machine 51 is driven by the engine and accessory equipment 60 thereof is stored in a casing provided with a downward air intake port, an air intake hood projecting from an upper part of one end side of the casing, and an air exhaust hood on an upper part of another end side of the casing. A rotary member is provided on one end. The protection cover 200 rotatably attached on an end part of the air intake port of the air intake hood, a first fixing member 204 provided on another end of the protection cover and simply fixing another end of the protection cover on the end part of the air intake, and second fixing member 202, 203, 235 provided on another end of the protection cover and locking another end of the protection cover on the end part of the air intake are provided.
