PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve startability by controlling fuel-pressure at engine-starting time to optimum pressure in conformity with the engine conditions. SOLUTION: When a state of incomplete explosion is detected in starting of the engine (S2), a target rail pressure is increased (S3) or reduced (S6) by a prescribed value (i.e. 2 MPa), and increase/decrease of the engine speed is determined (S4, S7) on the basis of a differenceΔAv.NE of a mean value of the engine speed NE in a fixed time. Then, detection of a complete explosion of the engine is determined (S5, S8), and at the time when the complete explosion is attained, the control is finished. Thus, actual rail pressure is increased to a demanded rail which is optimal to the engine-starting, and the startability is improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
