PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crosspiece mounting fixture for a guard fence, which is free from a fear of catching clothes of passengers, good in appearance from a viewpoint of the passengers, resistant to deformation even if a vehicle collides thereon, contributes to formation of the guard fence having a structure in which the top of a support does not protrude from an upper bed of the crosspiece in an uppermost stage, and brings about excellent appearance, and to provide the guard fence using the crosspiece mounting fixture. SOLUTION: The crosspiece mounting fixture is formed of a flattened cylindrical holding member 11, a bracket 12 supporting the holding member, and a curved cylindrical cap 14 having a vertical wall surface 60. The bracket has a vertical wall 33 having a through hole 23 formed therein, for allowing horizontal insertion of a cap fixing bolt 4 therein, and the vertical wall surface 60 of the cap has a through hole or screw hole formed therein, for allowing insertion of a cap fixing bolt 4 therein.
