PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding apparatus which improves welding workability, weld quality and also arc start performance when starting next arc, suppresses a variation in condition of a welding wire tip at an end of welding, maintains an arc length to be almost constant for a period from issure of a command for a welding end to an actual stop of a welding wire, without a work to obtain an optimum value by an experiment such as a selection of control time for the welding end. SOLUTION: When a welding wire is fed to a welding point and stable welding is performed, if a start signal is turned off and a command for the welding end is issued, a welding wire feeding speed starts to slow down. At this time, an amount of the welding wire fed for a period after issuing the command for the welding end or during a droplet transfer prior to the command for the welding end is calculated, and the droplet is transferred when the feeding amount reaches a designated value.
