PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing electrolytic water by which the concentration of free residual chlorine in the city water stored in a water storage tank can be kept in a fixed range even when the quantity and quality of the city water to be introduced into the water storage tank from the outside are changed. SOLUTION: The water which is to be treated and is introduced into the water storage tank 30 is electrolyzed in an electrolytic cell 20, which is then sent again to the water storage tank 30. A control panel 1 controls so that the larger the flow rate measured by a flowmeter 6 becomes and/or the lower the concentration of free residual chlorine measured by a residual chlorine concentration sensor 7 becomes, the longer the time to supply electric power per unit time to a pair of electrodes is made in order to enlarge the electric quantity required for electrolyzing the water to be treated in the electrolytic cell 20 and/or the larger the amperage flowing between an anode and a cathode being a pair of electrodes is made when the water to be treated is electrolyzed.
