PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll paper supply mechanism in which a storage space of a preliminary roll paper is formed in a vicinity of a storage space of a present roll paper, and when the roll paper must be supplied, a gate is opened, and the preliminary roll paper is rolled to the storage space of the present roll paper for supply, and slip of a tip of the preliminary roll paper below the present roll paper can be avoided. SOLUTION: A stopper 24 to stop a preliminary roll paper 22 at a waiting position is provided on a floor face in a storage space of the preliminary roll paper 22, and when the roll paper is supplied, the preliminary roll paper 22 is pressed by a pressing means 27 to allow the preliminary roll paper 22 to ride over the stopper 24, and be rolled to the storage space of a present roll paper 21. In a state in which the preliminary roll paper 22 is present at the waiting position, an upper face of the stopper 24 is inserted between a pair of gates 23 so as to be across inlet side end faces 23a of the pair of gates 23.
