PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing occurrence of image abnormality, e.g. transfer void due to deterioration in quality of a roll recording sheet, or fixing creases by managing environmental influence, e.g. moisture or temperature of the roll recording sheet, carrying influenced roll recording sheet automatically and then cutting and discharging the influenced roll recording sheet. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus 1, roll end part of a roll recording sheet contained in recording sheet feeding mechanisms 9a and 9b is fed out to the image forming section of a recording sheet feeding/image recording section 6, and then carried by the recording sheet feeding mechanisms 9a and 9b to the image forming section where an image is formed on that recording sheet before it is cut by means of a cutter and discharged. In this regard, it is determined whether or not the recording sheet is subjected to environmental influence, e.g. moisture or temperature, and if it is subjected to environmental influence, the roll recording sheet is carried by a predetermined length at the recording sheet feeding mechanisms 9a and 9b before it is cut by means of a cutter and discharged.
