A manufacturing method and an assembly assisting device for a vehicle capabl e of reducing man-hours in a step for mounting parts on a frame in the assembl y step for the vehicle and improving the working posture and working efficienc y of workers. Operations for mounting parts such as tanks, pipes, and wirings on the frame (3) are performed before the frame (3) is assembled. Namely, a par t or all of the parts are mounted on side rails (1) which are the elements of the frame (3) beforehand, and then cross members (2) are mounted on the side rails (1). A side rail holding stand is installed on a working surface plate to hold the pair of side rails (1) placed on the working surface plate parallel with each other at a specified height and rotate the held pair of side rails (1) around their longitudinal axes according to the advancement o f the operations. The side rail holding stand comprises rotating means hydraulically rotating the held side rails by a specified angle (approximate ly 90~) around their longitudinal axes and a means controlling the rotations of the rotating means.
