<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe sterilization method capable of uniformly sterilizing various kinds of microbes including a sporeformer or the like without damaging the quality of a sterilization object such as food, pharmaceuticals, Chinese herbal medicines, cosmetics, seeds for seeding, fodder and manure under a normal pressure without the problem of ozone depletion. <P>SOLUTION: The sterilizer 1 comprises a power source part 2 for generating a high voltage and a processor 5 provided with a discharge side electrode 3 for applying the generated high voltage and a ground side electrode 4, and the sterilization object 7 is arranged between the electrodes.
