<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receiver capable of making current consumption of the optical receiver almost zero (about leak current of a device) when no optical signal comes in, which is advantageous to low power consumption with no requirement for shutdown control signal from outside. <P>SOLUTION: The optical receiver comprises a low frequency/high frequency current separation filter circuit 12 which separates the low frequency current component of the current signal generated by a light receiving element 11 from the high frequency current component. It is provided with a current-voltage conversion circuit 13 that converts the low frequency current component to a voltage, and a bias circuit 15 for triggering a signal processing circuit 20 on the output of the current-voltage conversion circuit 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
