<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing data editing device reducing data editing work required to divert printing data even in different distribution methods and reducing cost. <P>SOLUTION: In this printing data diverting device 1, text data and a configuration list are generated from printing data, and tags corresponding to a table of contents of the configuration list are set to the text data to generate text data with tags. A text with hierarchical information is generated from the configuration list and the text data with the tags, and a text for a recording medium/table-of-content data is generated from the text with hierarchical structure information. Menu screen information is generated from the configuration list, and text data for the recording medium, menu screen information for the recording medium, and browsing software are outputted as data for the recording medium, while the tags in the hierarchical information text are converted into tags for Web to generate text data for Web.
