<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head useful for improving directionality of a hit ball. <P>SOLUTION: This golf club head 1 is provided with a face part 3, a crown part 4, a sole part 5 and a side part 6. This golf club head includes a head base body M composed of a metal material and having, at least, a single opening part O extending from the crown part 4, crossing the side part 6 in a back face side and reaching the sole part 5, and a cover body FR disposed in the opening part O and composed of a low specific gravity material having the specific gravity smaller than that of a metal material. In a head toe side part 1t and a head heel side part 1h virtually divided by a vertical surface VP including a normal line N drawn from a head gravity center G to the face 2 in the reference state, a surface area St of the cover body FR covering the opening part O included in the head toe side part 1t is formed larger than a surface area Sh of the cover body FR covering the opening part included in the head heel side part 1h, and the weight Wh of the head heel side part 1h is made 55-75% of the head whole weight W. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
