PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DVD reproducing device or video recording and reproducing device, in which a waveform analyzer can automatically perform all measurements using an output waveform, and an automatic measuring system and an automatic measuring method. SOLUTION: The video recording and reproducing device is provided with: a mode selection means 6 capable of selecting an automatic measurement mode; an output waveform erasure means 7 for inputting the command of the automatic measuring mode from the mode selecting means 6 and forcibly erasing a VBI frame waveform for specifying VBI data and the output waveform of VBI data when the VBI data are present; and an input/output means 8 for inputting an automatic measuring signal and outputting an output waveform for automatic measurement.
