PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for installing an external facing material with which causes no conflict of joints or the like between an external facing material installed to a support and an external facing material fitted to a beam, in a gate having the right and left supports and the beam. SOLUTION: In the method for installing an external facing material to a gate main body which is constituted of the right and left supports 1 and the beams 2 disposed between the upper spaces of the supports, the external facing materials 3, 30, 31 for the supports are installed to the front surface of the supports 1, and the external facing material 35 for the beams is installed to the front surface of the beams. A process for installing the external facing material to the front surface of the support 1 includes a process for installing a first external facing material 3 to a position near the beam 2 of the support 1, and a process for installing in succession the remaining external facing materials 30, 31 using the first external facing material 3 for the support as a reference. Preferably, the first external facing material 3 for the support has an aspect piece 300, an outside aspect piece 302 and an inside aspect piece 301, wherein the upper end of the inside aspect piece 301 is formed on a horizontal surface 301A, matching the horizontal surface 301A with a virtual horizontal surface P passing along the lower side of the beam 2.
