CATALYST FOR PRODUCING PARTICULATE MACROMONOMER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PARTICULATE MACROMONOMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for producing a particulate macromonomer having excellent processability, long chain branches, and good morphology in a high polymerization activity, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This catalyst comprises (a) a specific transition metal compound, (b) a clay mineral treated with an organic compound, and, if necessary, (c) an organic metal compound represented by the formula: M3R6m(M3is an element selected from magnesium, zinc and aluminum; R6groups are each independently H, a halogen atom, a 1 to 20C hydrocarbon group or a 1 to 20C alkoxy). The method for producing a particulate macromonomer comprises polymerizing ethylene and, arbitrarily, a≥3C olefin in the presence of the catalyst. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
