PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix substrate capable of suppressing display defects, such as lateral crosstalk and a flicker caused by the delay of a common wiring path, and a liquid crystal display device provided with the substrate. SOLUTION: A TFT substrate has a plurality of gate wires and a common wire which extend in one direction and a plurality of drain wires which extend almost at right angles, and has a bus wire 9a extending nearly in parallel to the drain wires outside a display region, and is provided with common wire terminals 12a on both the sides of a block composed of a specified number of gate terminals 5a. Then the resistance of the common wiring path is reduced by forming the common wiring terminals 12a and their lead-out wires 13 in the same layer with the drain wires and connecting them to the bus wire 9a in the same layer not through any contact, connecting the lead-out wires and bus wire 9a at a plurality of connection parts, and covering the nearly entire surface of a region surrounded with the opposite common wire terminals 12a and their lead-out wires 13 with a metal film.
