PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminator capable of beautifully finishing the lamination treatment to a medium to be recorded without performing end edge treatment in a separate process using a tool or the like after the lamination treatment of the medium to be recorded. SOLUTION: The laminator for forming a laminate layer on the recording surface of a sheetlike medium to be recorded is equipped with a pressure bonding part for bonding the laminate material to the medium to be recorded and the means to be transferred under heating and pressure in a state that the medium to be recorded is interposed between a sheetlike laminate material, wherein the laminate layer is formed on a region wider than the planar region of the medium to be recorded, and the means to be treansferred for transferring the laminate layer so as to oppose the recording surface to the laminate layer.
