PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform a ground leveling in a short time by facilitating the attachment of a measuring instrument to a ground leveling machine, so that an operator can operate the ground leveling machine and progress a ground leveling work while regularly visually confirming the levelness or inclination. SOLUTION: The horizontal ground leveling method comprises attaching a levelness measuring means for at least X-Y 2 direction to the vicinity of a driver's seat of the ground leveling machine, and operating the machine so as to regularly attain the levelness while visually confirming the levelness measuring means. The gradient ground leveling method comprising attaching a gradient display means for displaying a gradient by a rotary pointer at least based on vertical direction to the vicinity of the driver's seat of the ground leveling machine, and operating the machine so that an angle pointer regularly indicates a set angle while visually confirming the pointer of the gradient display means.
