PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely estimate the filtering characteristic of a liquid-solid mixture containing an optional solid particle. SOLUTION: Measurement data including particle size distribution of the solid particle, bottom compression pressure and average porosity of a sedimentation deposition layer, partial porosity in a cake, and the product of partial specific resistance and grain density in the cake are acquired. An NN model regulating the causal relation of the particle size distribution of the solid particle, the bottom compression pressure and average porosity of the sedimentation deposition layer, and the partial porosity in the case with the product of partial specific resistance and grain density in the case is constructed by use of the acquired measurement data. The product of partial specific resistance and grain density in the case is estimated from the grain size distribution of the solid particle, the bottom compression pressure and average porosity of the sedimentation deposit layer, and the partial porosity in the case by use of the constructed neural network model.
