摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely estimate cylinder charged air quantity including influence of pulsation in an air intake pipe. SOLUTION: In estimation of cylinder charged air quantity, air quantity (surplus air quantity) charged into a cylinder by pulsation of pressure in an air intake pipe is considered. Surplus air quantity is calculated based on quantity of pressure drop in the air intake pipe by opening of an intake valve 9. Pressure in the air intake pipe is a value obtained by quantization at sampling cycle X1 by A/D conversion of output from a pressure sensor 22, error of quantization and deterioration of accuracy due to noise can not be avoided. A value averaging the pressure drop quantity a plurality of opening/closing cycle of am intake valve 9 (average valueΔPmdwnave) is adopted as the pressure drop quantity used for calculation of surplus air quantity to suppress deterioration of accuracy. When length of cycle of pulsation of pressure in the air intake pipe 3 in relation to the sampling cycle X1 is determined less than a predetermined level, the average valueΔPmdwnave is calculated by an averaging method more accurate than normal.
