PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handle device which hardly damages a door end vertical stile in a kicking-off operation at the time of initial opening of a sliding door. SOLUTION: In the handle device 1, a seat 7 is fixed to the door end side of a sliding screen door 3, the handle 9 is rotatably provided to the seat 7, and a cam 11 is rotatably provided to the seat 7 so as to rotate interlocking with the handle 9 and has an engaging shaft 19. A frame support 13 has an abutting surface 21 abutting on the door end vertical frame 8 and a slot 23 engaged with the engaging shaft 19, projects from within the seat 7 to the door end stile 8 interlocking with the rotation of the cam 11, and an urging member 15 is provided between the cam 11 and the seat 7, urging the cam 11 toward a position where the frame support 13 is accommodated in the seat 7.
