The hydraulic system especially for motor vehicle with a parallel connected transmission and a double clutch (1) comprises two hydraulic sub-systems (13,16) each with a master cylinder (8,15) and a slave cylinder (2,3), and pressure medium lines (7,14) connecting them. The pressure medium lines are connected to an emergency opening valve (25) via a hydraulic OR-valve which has a ball (28) and two conical seats (27a,27b) which are each connected to an inlet (22,23). An independent claim is included for a method for the opening of the hydraulically operated clutches of a parallel connected transmission.
