The hinge (10) in an opening roof of a vehicle has two relatively pivotable members (3,4) with at least one section of each member constructed as a connecting section (6,8) rotatable around a longitudinal axis (7,9). The connecting sections of the hinge members are connected to a roof section (1,2) or to another component of the vehicle. In a defined position of the hinge members pivoted around the hinge pivot (5) the longitudinal axes of the two connecting sections coincide, and in this angled position the joint of the hinge containing the hinge pivot is pivotable around the common longitudinal axis of the members. An independent claim is included for an opening roof of vehicle with a hinge installed between two roof sections.
