<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte membrane/electrode assembly and its manufacturing method which improves the jointing strength of an electrolyte membrane and an electrode, and improve the durability and reliability of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell by using the electrolyte membrane/electrode assembly. <P>SOLUTION: When the electrode 11 and the electrolyte membrane 12 are jointed, an adhesive 13 is coated on a part of the surface of the electrode 11. Since the adhesive 13 is coated on only a part of the electrode, the durability and reliability can be improved without the diffusion of the reactants such as a fuel and oxygen, and products such as water and carbon dioxide being inhibited, and without the degradation of the characteristics the fuel cell must have. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
