<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable optical information reading device that allows a user to find and learn an appropriate reading position efficiently by notifying of availability of barcode reading and a method for improving a reading state without requiring a particular database of reading conditions or the like for the portable optical information reading device. <P>SOLUTION: The portable optical information reading device comprises a two dimensional code reading part that reads a two dimensional code optically as image information, an error correction calculating part that calculates a state of error correction of the information decoded by the two dimensional code reading part, and a notifying part that notifies of availability of reading the optical information based on the error detection state outputted by the error correction calculating part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
