<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method in which, when different kinds of images such as pictures, letters and figures are intermingled and displayed in the same screen, the image in good quality without jaggies on the border of variable magnification images of the letters and the figures is obtained by performing variable magnification processing suitable for each image classification. <P>SOLUTION: The method for performing the variable magnification processing and displaying the different kinds of images such as pictures, letters and figures comprises the steps of ; storing an arithmetic processing method used for the magnification processing for each image classification in a memory and setting the number of divided area of the display screen (S1); setting the number of head line corresponding to each divided area which is set (S2); setting the classification of the image corresponding to each divided area (S3); setting a variable magnification rate of the image corresponding to each divided area (S4); selecting the arithmetic processing method stored in the memory by the image classification and the variable magnification rate which are set (S5); indicating the divided area for displaying the image (S6); and performing the variable magnification of the image according to the arithmetic processing method which is selected and displaying the image on the indicated divided area (S7). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
