<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polarizing film which has excellent optical characteristics and uniform in-plane optical characteristics, the polarizing film obtained by this manufacturing method, an optical film formed by laminating this polarizing film and another optical layer, and an image display device to which this polarizing film and the optical film are applied. <P>SOLUTION: In the polarizing film manufacturing method having processes of dyeing and stretching a raw film, and then drying it while conveying it using rolls, the ratio (R/W) of the distance between the rolls (R) at the time of the drying process to an initial raw film width (W) is made to fall within the range of 0.5 to 4.0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
