PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic nonlinear optical material having a large two photon absorption sectional area and easily causing two photon absorption and to provide a triaryl boron compound suitable for the same. SOLUTION: The organic nonlinear optical material contains the boron compound represented by general formula (I) (wherein, Ar1to Ar6each represents a bivalent aromatic ring group which may independently have a substituent, X1to X3each represents a bond to which a bivalent conjugated system is independently connected and R1to R6each independently represents an optional substituent except a hydrogen atom) as at least a portion of its constituent.
