PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic vending machine capable of always holding a beverage commodities in a suitable temperature range and suppressing product costs to low costs even in an automatic vending machine constituted of commodity storages having respectively different cooling performance and heat radiation performance. SOLUTION: The cooling system for the automatic vending machine is provided with cooling medium evaporators installed in respective commodity storing rooms for storing commodities to be sold and capable of evaporating the cooling medium to cool the commodities, a compressor arranged on the downstream of these medium evaporators to press and compress the cooling medium of which pressure is reduced by evaporation, a plurality of electromagnetic valves capable of opening/closing respective cooling medium passages to respective cooling medium evaporators, temperature detection means arranged in respective commodity storing rooms to detect the temperatures of the commodity storing rooms, and a control means for receiving detection signals from respective temperature detection means and controlling the opening/closing of the electromagnetic valves and the drive/stop of the compressor, the control means has an operating evaporation decision part for controlling the number of operated evaporators to operate the evaporators so that the number of evaporators to be driven after prescribed time from the arrival of one room at an OFF temperature is reduced.
