PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate type heat exchanger wherein a fluid passage opening of a frame holding and fixing laminated heat transfer plates is a corrosion resistant structure with an advantage in cost by simplifying the structure and assembly. SOLUTION: In the plate type heat exchanger, an annular boss 20 comprising a corrosion resistant material is detachably attached in a fit-in style to the fluid passage opening 10 passing through the carbon steel made frame 1. The fluid passage opening 10 has the boss 20 fit in an inner circumference from an axis direction such that the boss 20 can be inserted and drawn out, it has an engagement part 11 regulating axial movement of the inserted boss 20, and the boss 20 has an engagement part detachably engaging with the engagement part 11 in an outer circumference.
