PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a spraying agent for retaining freshness of cut flowers in which contract of petal and inclination of the base of petal are prevented and flowering is delayed and freshness of petals of rose , carnation, and the like, is retained over a long period and waste liquid is not discharged by spraying the agent to the cut flower. SOLUTION: This spraying agent for retaining the freshness of cut flowers comprises an aqueous solution containing 0.001-1% one or more kinds of sugars such as trehalose and fructose and 0.01-10 ppm 6-benzylaminopurine and preferably further comprises 0.01-5% one or more kinds of alcohols such as glycerol and slight amount of silver, and the spraying agent has pH 6-8.
