PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preclude an impersonate theft and erroneous carrying-out of a container at a container terminal. SOLUTION: A video camera 44 to photograph a number plate 43 is installed at an entrance gate 26, and the number of a truck T is read from the image of the number plate 43 photographed by the video camera 44 and converted into letter information by an image acknowledging system 46. The previously registered numbers of trucks are stored in a truck master table 48. A gate reception processing program 52 judges whether the number acknowledged by the image acknowledging system 46 is stored in the truck master table 48, if yes, admits entry of the truck T by lifting a gate 51, and if no, maintains the gate 51 in the closed condition and issues alarm with a buzzer 53.
