PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic resin container which has high gas barrier property and shows a superior performance in preserving a content. SOLUTION: The synthetic resin container has a coat (2), which has high gas barrier property, at least on the inner or outer surface of a container body. At least the coat (2) consists of: an organic silicon compound layer (2a) which is located on the surface of the container body and which contains nitrogen, silicon, carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen; and of a silicon oxide compound layer (2b) composed mainly of a silicon oxide compound.
