To obtain position information of marks at four corners of a display even under a condition where not all of the four marks are photographed, by permitting mark information to include information for estimating positions of other marks. At the four corners of a display (1), marks (0-3) including index segments indicating arrangement directions of other three marks are provided, and the mark images are picked up by an image pickup device (2). A position detecting part (5) is provided with a mark detecting part (51) for extracting a mark from photographed images, a mark type discriminating part (52) for discriminating at which position each photographed mark is provided on the display, an index segment selecting part (53) for discriminating a segment included in each photographed mark, a calculating part (54) for calculating a position of a mark with unpicked up image, from an intersecting point of an extension of the index segment, and a relative coordinate detecting part (55) for calculating a relative position of the display and an image pickup device, based on position information of the photographed mark on an image flat plane and that of the mark not photographed on the image flat plane.
