The transducer has a transducer module, and an electronics assembly, with interior and exterior portions, mounted in housing. The assembly has an electronics sub-assembly with a discrete electrical component in the interior portion. A thermal conductor is thermally coupled with the component and operable to remove heat generated by the electrical component and move the heat from the interior to exterior portion. An independent claim is also included for a method of cooling an ultrasound transducer.
