MOTION COMPENSATION METHOD AND APPARATUS AT VECTOR-BASED IMAGE BORDERS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method of image data generation based on motion compensation, and a motion compensation circuit.

SOLUTION: In order to avoid an effect resulting from compensation close to an image border in a box type image, position confirmation is performed on each of motion compensated data for determining whether or not the motion compensated image data are available for a purpose of interpolation. The position of the motion compensated image data in a referenced image is compared with a predetermined borderline, an impermissible image data position is detected, and interpolation based on such image data is prevented.
