摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix liquid crystal display by the IPS technology using a short pitch transparent interdigital electrode, manufactured by using liquid crystal materials of the positive dielectric constant anisotropy that allow lowering of a driving voltage, speeding up of a response, and reduction of a cost, which has achieved the transmissivity equivalent to the transmissivity (a level of the TN technology) when liquid crystal materials of the negative dielectric constant anisotropy are used. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal composition of the positive dielectric constant anisotropy is used in which the ratio K11/K22, where K11 is a splay elastic deformation constant and K22 is a twist elastic deformation constant, is 2.4 or more, the dielectric constant anisotropy is 8 or more, and the rotational viscosity value is 110 mPa s or less.
