PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radial tire for a heavy load suitable as a winter tire, for suppressing block breakage while securing necessary on-snow/on-ice performance. SOLUTION: A center side rib 5 out of four ribs formed by vertical main grooves 3, 4 is sectioned into a block row 12 formed of inner blocks Bi, and a block row 13 formed of outer blocks Bo by a circumferential shallow bottom groove 8, and horizontal grooves 9, 10. The inner and outer blocks Bi, Bo are divided into three block pieces in a circumferential direction by sipings 15i, 15o respectively extending in width directions. Block row rigidity as a product of a number of ground contact blocks of each block row which the inner and outer blocks Bi, Bo contact on a ground contact surface in a normal load state, and circumferential rigidity of the inner and outer blocks Bi, Bo, is 9.0-16.0 times of a normal load M.
