PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power unit that allows easy mounting of a sensor for detecting the condition of each cell built into the power unit. SOLUTION: The power unit comprises a plurality of approximately parallel cells 2 each comprising unit cells 1 connected together in a straight line. A power module comprising the cells 2 connected in series is built into a holder 10N. The holder includes a positioning fitting part 14 for holding the cells positioned on the inner surface thereof, and a sensor 86 for detecting the condition of the cells held against the positioning fitting part, the sensor being provided to protrude from the positioning fitting part with respect to the cells in such a manner as to be inserted into interfaces where the cells constituting each cell 2 are connected together. Insertion of the cells 2 into the positioning fitting part of the holder allows the sensor to be positioned and inserted to the connection interfaces of the unit cells 1. In this way, as the cells 2 are set in the holder, the sensor can be positioned, and the process of assembling the holder and the work of positioning the sensor can be simplified.
