PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejector equipped with a simplified carriage lock mechanism which suppresses breakage of a carriage, a lock member and the like in the cleaning operation. SOLUTION: A guide part 45 of a guide plate 41 fixed to a case body of a cleaning mechanism is fitting inserted in a sliding groove 50a formed in a pin body 50 of a lock pin 43. The lock pin 43 is arranged to be movable up and down in a vertical direction Z. A coil spring 44 is held between a contact face of the lock pin 43 and a placement piece 49 set projecting at a cap holder 33. The lock pin 43 is always urged upward along the vertical direction Z by an elastic force of the coil spring 44.
