PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate type heat exchanger which has a wide brazing area by linear braze-bonding to enhance the pressure resistant ability, and is hard to break by the pressure of a flowing fluid. SOLUTION: A plurality of herringbone plates 4 having an uneven herringbone pattern 13 are laminated with each other, and reinforcing plates 18 are laminated between the herringbone plates 4. The top parts of the herringbone patterns 13 and the reinforcing plates 18 are linearly brought in contact with each other and then braze-bonded to form many through holes 20 in a portion except the braze-bonding parts of the reinforcing plates 18.
