PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly detect temperature of a heating site of underfloor equipment from the ground side outside a track traveling vehicle by effectively reducing the influence of disturbance by the surrounding environments of the track traveling vehicle. SOLUTION: A control processor 18 controls a temperature detection section 11 through a connecting box 17, so that a movable mirror is retracted from an incident path for radiant heat and stands by. When a train arrives and a wheel is detected by an incoming wheel detection section 14, the control processor 18 starts to prepare for measurement. The control processor 18, in response to the detection by a measurement wheel detection section 15, measures the radiant heat of an axle box of each passing wheel by a radiation thermometer of the temperature detection section 11. When the detection of wheels by a passed wheel detection section 16 ceases after all wheels have passed, the control processor 18 operates the temperature detection section 11 and inserts the movable mirror into the incident path for the radiant heat with inclining it by nearly 45°to guide radiant heat from a side calibration heating element 12 into the radiation thermometer, performs temperature measurement, and calibrates a measured value for each wheel W measured in advance.
