PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave oven capable of making sufficiently the best use of a detection output from an infrared sensor to detect a state of a heated object, by detecting surely a temperature of the heated object by the infrared sensor mounted with infrared detection elements. SOLUTION: This microwave oven includes the infrared sensor 7 attached to a side face upper part or a rear face of a heating chamber 10 of one direction side along the first direction (y-direction), in an outside of the heating chamber 10, and for catching an infrared ray inside the heating chamber 10, the infrared sensor 7 has the plurality of infrared detection elements arranged juxtaposedly along the first direction, each of the plurality of infrared detection elements has a view field 70a on a bottom face 9, and a moving means is provided further for moving the plurality of infrared detection elements along the second direction 99 crossed with the first direction so as to restrain, to a low level, a change in a width, of the view field 70a of the plurality of infrared detection elements, in the area inside the heating chamber 10.
