DETERGENT AND CLOTHING TREATING AGENT EACH CONTAINING SULFO-CONTAINING CARBOXYLIC ACID POLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carboxylic acid polymer powder which has excellent solubility in uses for fiber treating products (e.g., detergents and clothing treating agents). SOLUTION: It has been found out that the detergent and the clothing treating agent each of which contains the carboxylic acid polymer powder satisfying the following requirements (a) and (b) have markedly improved solubility. The above requirements are (a) the viscosity of a 0.2 wt.% aqueous solution is 10 mPa s or higher and (b) the polymer contains carboxy groups and sulfo groups and contains a sulfo-containing monomer in an amount of 0.5 to 90 mol% based on the entire monomers constituting the polymer.
