PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire where the steering stability and durability are improved in a balanced manner. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire 1 comprises a carcass 6 having at least one carcass ply having a body section 6a and a folding section 6b, and a bead apex 8 that is disposed between the body section 6a and the folding section 6b and extends from the outer surface of a bead core 5. The bead apex comprises a base section 9, a sheet-like section 10 that connects to the base section 9, contacts with the body section 6a, extends to the radial outside of the tire, and has a thickness of 1.0-2.0 times the wire diameter of a carcass cord, and an outside section 11 where the inside surface in the tire axial direction contacts with the outside surface of the tire axial direction of each of the base section 9 and the sheet-like section 10 and the outer end of the sheet-like section 10 exceeds the outside in the tire radial direction. The base section 9 is made of rubber material of which rubber hardness Hd1 is 70-90°, the sheet-like section 10 is made of rubber material of which rubber hardness Hd2 is 80-100°, and the outside section 11 is made of rubber material of which rubber hardness Hd3 is 50-80°.
